All who know me know how I feel about "X-step Plans to Accomplishing/Banishing Y Forever!" (hint: I don't like them, because they are largely bullshit). And remember, it's always important to read all the instructions before you start...
But this is solid gold, if I do say myself. I sent it to a client this morning, and I'm pretty proud of it:
MY TRUSTY 3-STEP GUIDE TO GETTING SCARY THINGS DONE:
STEP 1: Okay, re: the [thing you want to do that seems scary/hard]. Turn on Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” (or whatever your jam is), turn it up loud, and proceed to do just that (Shake. It. Off.). Then do 50 jumping jacks, 20 pushups (or as many as you can muster). Possibly grab a pillow and do some primal screaming (into the pillow, so your neighbours don't call the police).
STEP 2: Now the energy’s gone, it’s time to focus: try a guided meditation (this will work nicely: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92i5m3tV5XY).
STEP 3: Then, in the words of Nike, Just [Bloody] Do It. (I think that’s how it goes)
P.S. But seriously, what’s in the way? And what is prolonging doing it actually buying you? What are you afraid of? (think about/answer these questions before trying my trusty 3-step guide to getting scary things done.)
